My friend Lori was kind enough to take Kyle's senior pictures. She is so talented! We drove out to Queen Creek and she had the perfect spot. It didn't take long...she really is amazing. She didn't even have to think about anything just snapped pictures and these are some of them that she took! I love them! Kyle was so smiley. I really like the serious ones...she was right it does make him look all grown up! Thank you Lori! Now on to graduation!

New Beginnings and State Basketball game

New beginnings was last Wednesday night. For those of you who don't know what that is....Once a year we have a program to welcome all the new 12 year olds girls in to our Young Women's program. It is always nice and we hope they all feel welcome. So this year they decided to do a "Movie" theme. It turned out so dang cute!

Emily came up with the decorating ideas and Kailey and Charity made the movies. They made videos of all the new girls that came in. Did it sort of interview style so we all knew what they liked, disliked etc. Then all the girls met on a monday since they didn't have school and made a movie called "Know right and the 8 dorvs", which stood for Defenders of righteous values. They introduce the values that we teach the girls about during the year. Some of the girls weren't able to show up so a few had double parts. It was hiliarious! If I were computer savvy I would put the video up here. Seriously the girls were all Hams and it was so funny. I had watched it before the actual night but for some reason the night of New Beginnings I was laughing so hard I cried. The dorvs looked like giants and maria did an awesome job being Know right. Everyone was so good!
Emily, Kyoko, Kim and myself had fun decorating for it. My good friend Kim who is one of the mia maid advisors thought we were a little out of control, but I had fun. It took me back to high school days and decorating for events. I think it is good to show girls you can do cool things on a low budget! It looked great and turned out awesome! I am not sure the other ward that was supposed to have the soft chairs liked that we traded chairs, but we were comfortable watching the big screen! The girls did leader trivia for the previews until the real movie started. It was about 15 minutes and then Brother John talked about choices and was very inspiring! We have a great leaders in the young women. We have a lot of fun together! The girls are the best too! I love being in Young Woman's and hope that I contribute in some way to the growing and becoming more amazing than they already are!
Each Sunday we resight a theme to help the girls learn the values and hopefully believe what they are saying! It says.....
We are daughters of a Heavenly Father who loves and we love him.
We will stand at witnesses of God at all times and in all things and in all places
as we strive to live the Young Women's values which are
Faith
Divine Nature
Individual Worth
Knowledge
Choice and Accountability
Good Works and
Integrity and
Virtue
We believe as we come to accept and act upon these values we will strengthen home and family,
make and keep sacred covenants, receive the ordances of the temple and enjoy the blessing of exhaltation. I hope that I wrote it down right. I am doing it off the cuff and they have changed some of it since I was in Young Womens. I used to stand every sunday when I was young and say these words. I believe that if each girls truly does learn who they are and strives to learn about these values and apply them in their lives that they will be happy and be able to handle all that will come to them in life. I LOVE teaching them every sunday and being part of their lives! What beautiful, great girls they all are! I hope they realize their Divine Potential in Life!

A few shots of our beautiful girls in our ward! They all had a blast and you could see it in thier eyes. Last picture is our bishop with our girls. Can I say how cool I our bishop is? He continually cracks me up! He has such a great sense of humor and we all love him to death! Oh the stories.....

We went the State Basketball Championships for the 2A girls basketball. SJ was playing and so was my niece so of course we had to go!
When I was in high school, I absolutely loved playing basketball. I am so competitive and loved getting in there and getting physical with girls. I loved the challenge and wouldnt let other girls intimidate me. I thought I was hot stuff and noone could take that away from me. I know...high school...oh to be so confident and cool again. Well the reason that I am even saying any of this is because I didn't think anyone else could be as aggressive or love it like I did. I loved taking charges and just running my butt off. I must say....I think I was wrong. My niece Jenna is one of the most competitive girls I know. She loves the sport more than I did. Not only basketball but every sport she plays which is everything. She puts her whole heart and mind in to the game. I was more like 70% basketball, 30% boys. My daughter kailey hates it because she will even choose her sports over hanging out with cousins. She is dedicated 100%. No boys...can you believe it?!? She seriously lives to play! She is a great ball player and is only a sophmore. I can only imagine when she is a senior what she will be like. Can I say domination?!
We were happy that they pulled it off and beat the Willcox cowgirls! SJ Redskins can't be BEAT! Way to go Jenna and the rest of the team! You girls ROCK!

A few pictures of the cousins and my little ones!
