Quick trip to california

I don't know how I left this out on my post yesterday....after all it was one of the most fun things I have gotten to do in a long time!
Al bought Patty tickets to the Billy Joel/Elton John concert. I was lucky enough to have been asked to tag along. Not only were we going to the concert, but it was in California too! So saturday morning we woke up drove to the airport and headed off to California for a quick weekend trip.

Again Al was kind enough to let patty and I sit by each other on the plane and we did nothing but catch up. We don't get to see each other as much as I would like since she switched jobs. So we flew in to Orange county early got a rental car and headed out to patty's parents house. I really enjoyed being able to see all the places that patty has told me about. Her dad's garden, her house she grew up in, the schools she went to. I have always heard stories now I can picture what she is talking about. Her parents were awesome and I LOVED their home! Very homey...my kind of place. We went to lunch at a mexican place patty loves. It was yummy. They have HUGE tortilla chips! It was really good. We went back to her parents and relaxed and visited. I enjoyed having her dad tell me all about his native country Portugal. He has a bunch of really cool dolls and things from there! Very interesting to me because I will probably never get to go there in person so I loved hearing about it.

We rested and relaxed and then went to pick up patty's brother bob. The 4 of us really had a great time! The concert was unbelievable! They rocked out for almost 5 hours! It was the bomb! I heard that they didn't play as long here in arizona so we were stoked! They came out on stage and played for awhile together singing each others songs. Billy Joel left the stage and Elton rocked for 2 HOURS solid! Then he left and Billy came out and played for almost 2 hours and then Elton came back and they played together again! It was so great! Patty claims it was the best concert she has ever been to. I must agree it was awesome! I can't believe how good they both sound after all these years.

So sunday we got up had a nice brunch with all the Carvalho family and headed home. It was so much fun! I actually was thinking how lucky I was on the plane ride over to California. Who would have ever dreamed that this small town girl would be able to do something like flying to another state for a quick overnight trip. It was great and I appreciate rob keeping the family functioning while I was gone! It was just what I needed. Patty is the greatest and I have missed her so much! I loved catching up with her and being friends again without work! I love her family too. They are awesome! Thank you Al for letting me be part of your fun! I will love you forever for doing that for us! Patty is a lucky woman to have such a thoughtful husband!

We had some guy take a picture of us....he must have been drinking because none of them came out clear...and you can barely see patty peaking out behind bob.

Foxcroft happenings.....

I am finally sitting down and trying to catch up on my blogging. Seems like that is what I do...a huge post about everything. So here are a few things we have been up to since my last post. I need to try to do better because I have a lot of things coming up soon like kyle's GRADUATION! Wow times flies. But for now here is the latest going ons in our lives!

We took the kids to the dunes for Spring break awhile back. We had an enjoyable time. Makenna chose to go to St. Johns with Chris and Keirsten so she wasn't with us. Kailey brought her friend Mariah. What a fun girl she is! Kyle brought his friend aaron. Too cool for words...and I brought my friend Kim. We had a good time staying up late playing games and visiting. I had to put this picture of aaron on here. He came back after a ride and his hair was so poofy. I laughed and took a picture for his mom. It was pretty funny he and kyle's hair was so fluffy. We found some baby birds in the front of our toy hauler. I hope the mom came back to them once we left. It was a nice spring break!

Kids buzzing around on the toys....

On the way home from the dunes...the boys were exhausted and tried to sleep. Kailey thought it was so funny to take pictures of them. Kyle with one eye opened while he slept, and poor aaron couldn't get comfortable....he kept moving all around. I laughed when I saw the picture of kailey laying back like she is admiring him. Too funny!

Makenna dressed up for school spirit day. Can you guess what era?

Kaden's strawberry plant produced! He was quite excited about that.

Makenna got BRACES! She looks so much older now. Sort of makes me sad! She looks cute as a button!

Kyle asked Amie to Prom...He got a giant rock and painted No on it and a little rock with yes on it. Hoping she would return the little rock. Put tons of tea light candles out in a shape of a heart. It was fun...Amie's family was great to help as you can see by the pictures! We were glad the rain stopped for a brief period so the candles would stay lit.

Don't worry she answered back with a yes! She wrote two tiny yes in the bottom of one of the candles. Kyle didn't burn them all he pulled out all of the candles and found the answer. I think if you click on the picture it may show the poster better. It is hard to read from the pictures.

Easter Egg hunts in the back yard. My dad started a tradition a very long time ago or maybe it was my brothers...anyways they put large amounts of money in eggs. So we have kept on with that tradition. It is great because it gets the older kids to still run around like crazy kids. I believe that Kyle found the "big" prize and makenna found the other money eggs.
