We finally decided to cut down a few of our trees. We had been discussing it for awhile now, and with the extreme weather and all of the trees without leaves we thought it was the perfect time. We actually got several quotes to have it done, but everyone wanted so much money. So thursday night rob went to work and cut down 3 of our huge mature trees. One was a huge ficus that was at least 11 years old. It was huge and big and beautiful but the problem was that it was growing into the house. We didn't plan very well when we started putting our landscaping in years ago. So since all the trees were ugly because of the frost we decided it may be easier to do ourselves.

I sent kailey out to take pictures of rob and hadn't looked to see how they turned out. So what you see is what you get. You can get the idea from the pictures even though rob's face is cut off or not showing. But these are of the big ficus coming down. We also cut down 2 big rubber trees. They too were to close to the house and one was knocking tiles off of our house so they had to come down. We spent saturday morning in a long line at the dump. The whole family went minus makenna, she was at a primary activity day. I should have taken pictures at the dump but didnt. It was good family time and hopefully passed on some hard working skills for the kids. It is amazing how different our house looks without the trees. I am glad that we are done and it is over with. We saved ourselves a lot of money. We just now have to pay to have the stumps groung down and injected. I had been hoping to work on our closet, but this was something that needed to be done as well. Another big project checked off at our house!

Holy cow Rach! I am not even going to recognize your house and drive right past! Hehehe! I can't believe you cut them down! Oh, wanted to come this weekend, but Butch has to teach in Elders Quorum! His first week is this week so he can't get a sub! But, maybe sometime soon! I sure would love to come down!

I remember when you planted the trees... I'm kind of sad. ha- I still hate the fact I do not live next door to you. Funny thing is, a year ago my dad says to me, "I don't know why we didn't keep that house". I said, "don't even go there, you wouldn't buy Mike out". He said really? ughhh! Oh well, ghetto life is good... LOL

Jenn I should take pictures of your trees. well one of them is gone but the other one you planted is huge! I will and email it to you. I know...I still wish that you were next door too. I loved having you there it was very comforting to me. I can't believe that your dad said that! Ohhh that makes me mad. I remember the rounds you had with him about it. Oh well....you are right at least everyone is happy and life is good!
