What to do....what to do???

Rob has been planning on a last dune trip and was going this weekend. He decided to take Kaden my baby. Well he is almost 4 but still my baby. So we all got up, took the other 3 to school and helped him pack up. I was a little sad to have them go. So I have the weekend without a little one to think about. What do I do? So far I have just been relaxing watching whatever I want, listening to music loud, and just being lazy. I sure appreciate rob that he has no fears of taking kids alone. He has always done this since the beginning of our marriage. It is nice to get a break once in a while.
I think that I am going to just go hang out with makenna, and see what she wants to do. Kailey is going on a date....now that she is 16 that seems like what she wants to do most. Kyle is either going to St. Johns with my nephew or staying home. He and Kailey have a party to go to tomorrow night so we will see what he picks. I must say it will be nice to just hang out with makenna. She is a doll. She makes me laugh.
I am looking forward to the summer with the kids. I am hoping to make myself and the kids a schedule and keep by it. I don't want them watching tv all summer. I have been writing done all the things that I want to do with them. I am hoping on doing some travels locally with them. So maybe fridays will be our travel day, although it will be movie day too. I am sure I can work on something. I plan on getting them up and working them. They all need to learn to work more. It seems like it is always a fight to get them to help. They will always do simple things, ie bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen. I feel spring cleaning coming on!
I am hoping to have a reading day too. I used to be in a reading program through the St. Johns Library. We would read so many books in different subjects and earn these little patches that someone had hand painting on fabric. I thought it was the coolest thing ever and would read like crazy! I think I even got put in the local paper for earning them all. What a cool thing! These days I feel guilty reading because I have so much to do always. I hate guilt. I am learning to overcome it! This morning I have layed around and not done anything that needs to get done...that is progress right!? Well I must run get makenna and start our adventure!

Guilt over reading? I say never. I love to read, and it is my one escape. I have a group of women here that are so much fun. We have a book group, a giant journaling group, and we also watch America's Next Top Model every week together. It makes life so much more rich.

It sounds like you have some fun plans for the summer. Ours is going to be super short because of our trip out west. The kids and I will be gone a whole month. Of course you have to take into account that a week of that is driving. Yuck. Oh well, if it gets me home, I'm willing.

I wish so much that I had the different kids to kind of bounce around between. I love hearing about the different phases and stages. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT GIRL IS DATING NOW!

That is so funny! Yesterday I made a list of things I wanted to do with the kids over the summer. If your kids need to learn to work, they can come babysit my kids then you and I can work on your guilt! Reading is not a quilty pleasure. My kids teachers are always telling me that they can tell that lots of reading happens in our home. I read to the boys books that I want to read. Like right now I am reading them Fablehaven. Never feel guilty about reading. Did you like how we totally visit taught you last month? At least we are consistant. An idea for the summer, start learning FRENCH!!

Hey Cousin Rachel! Thanks for posting on my blog :) I was just looking through your blog and your kids are so dang cute and older! WOW! I would not have recognized them because I saw them so long ago. Your oldest daughter looks familiar.

You look SO much like your MOM! I love it!

Well, enjoy the summer with the kids and keep in touch.
