Old fashioned fun in the valley of the sun!

So the Laurels were in charge of the joint activity a few months back. Kailey decided to do a "Snow" theme. So the first activity was to make the biggest human snowball. She spent many weeks collecting paper shreds for the big event. I think the kids had a really good time with this. The snowballs were pretty cute. Right before the kids started rolling around in the shreds, teagan and andrew got the bright idea of running an jumping in to each other. It was pretty funny. I should have taken pictures of them getting stuck together.

So for this activity the kids were given a bag with items in it and they had to decide how to make the best Snowman with what they had in their bags. Some of them were really creative! They only had a short amount of time to get it done. I got a kick out of watching aaron. He seemed to be the only YM leader that really got in to the activity. He was busy the entire time just working away, not letting anyone interupt his thought! It was pretty funny! What a cool leader huh!

Here are the finished snowmen. Can you tell who won?

We finished off the cool night with a snowball fight in the greenbelt and then snow cones. Bahama Bucks has great snowballs! What a great night!

love all the cute things you do with the youth. I have always admired the way you serve in the youth positions. You are great with them. It looked like a great night. It is fun to see other teenagers and feel apart. I thought I would be great during my kids' adolescence. What a joke. I am pretty cruddy. You are a great inspiration to me. Thx Rach. I appreciate your example.

What a fun idea! Ya'll do the best things with the youth and you can tell they are excited and love coming. The snow must have been fun in the heat, too.
