Kaileys Junior Prom in St. Johns

Kailey along with one of her best friends Kaitlin both got asked to the Prom in St. Johns. So they were able to ride up there together and see what it is like to go to a small town prom. For years I have been telling my kids what they miss out on living in the big city. Prom is just not the same. So I was happy that kailey got to experience the prom there! She got asked by Kent Bloomfield and Kaitlin went with my nephew Lawson. I was so sad that I wasn't able to go and be there with her for her first prom...but my family of course came through. My sister in law keirsten did her hair and makeup which turned out amazing! She also did Kaitlins hair. So here are a few pictures of her before. She was actually watching twilight which she has never read the books and refuses to do so. So I was shocked that she watched the movie!

Here is the finished product....doesnt she look amazing! She is such a beautiful girl. It was a very fun and challenging experience shopping for prom dresses with her. She was funny and wasn't really in to trying on so many dresses. It is hard to find modest dresses! So after shopping all day long and not having any luck, we went back to the mall by our house and went in to dillards. She didn't see anything she liked and I picked up this dress and said Kailey just try it on for fun. Sometimes moms know and can pick out things that would look adorable. So she passified me and tried it on. We both knew once she tried it on that it was the one. She looked absolutely beautiful in it! It is a beautiful dress. THANK GOODNESS! I was about to think we wouldn't find anything. My sister got some great pictures of her. I love the picture of Kailey and Jenna. They have always been so close which has been a blessing to me. They are some cute girls! The only thing that they didn't take a picture of which I wanted to document was....Kailey insisted on wearing her vans. So both she and Kaitlin wore vans to the prom. Her vans were bright red...
Girls...gotta love them.

I love that dress. Landon went down to the city for his prom. Funny.
P.S. I love the name Lawson. I almost named Waylon that because it means "son of Lawrence" and my dad, who passed away, was named Laurence. But I changed my mind at the last minute because I thought it might look funny since Rick used to date your sister. I've been mad at myself ever since because I know that was silly. It wouldn't have mattered at all. Besides, Rick's dad was so excited about the name because he loved your dad so much. Oh the stupid things we do.

She looks so much like you in these pictures. What fun that she got to go to a SJ prom. Smart girl for wearing the vans, she was probably the only one there without hurting feet.
