El Tour De Phoenix

Last Saturday rob was in the El Tour De Phoenix race here in mesa. It was a 72 mile ride around mesa, scottsdale, fountain hills and back up usery to red mountain park. He has joined cycling team awhile back and has been riding with them for awhile. Kailey and I got up early and went to the start and then drove around town watching him ride in his race. We had a good time doing that until we got stuck in traffic on Shea for what seemed a very long time. Apparently a rider either got hit by a car or just wrecked. The traffic was so long we sat and waited and waited. We were hoping to get way ahead of rob and then get out and cheer him on when he came riding by. Instead we yelled for him as we sat in traffic and he passed us. Scary what the bikers have to endure with bad roads and traffic etc. I was happy to see rob riding by! There were so many riders it was hard to differentiate who was my husband. It was more fun than I expected and was very proud of rob. Seriously I can't even imagine riding 5 miles let alone 72. The best part is I get to tell rob how hot he looks in his riding gear. I have to admit I chuckle and laugh each time I see him. All in the name of health!

We waited and waited...to the point I started worrying that maybe he got in a wreck. I was feeling very anxious when finally......here he comes! We all yelled and cheered! It was a great feeling watching him!

Rehashing the ride with his buddy Steven. They ride together all the time in the mornings!

Sitting around relaxing after the race eating snow cones! I am proud of rob! I am proud that he has kept up with his riding and am happy he is taking care of his heart!

Wow! First, I wouldn't want to ride a bike 72 miles. But even more than that, it has to take a lot of bravery to ride a bike around the Valley. Impressive!
