So a week ago today was my birthday. Yes it is true....I am another year older and another year closer to 40. I am hoping that by the time I really actually get to 40 I will be in the best place of my life and that 40 will be wonderful! I sort of have a bad attitude about birthdays...it just seems like another day to me. Doesn't really feel like we celebrate my life, or peoples lives in general. We buy gifts for each other but do we really reflect on who we are giving the gifts to? idk the whole birthday thing seems a bit odd to me when I really start thinking about it....anyways...
I had a nice surprise on the saturday before my birthday. One of my best friends surprised me and came and picked me up and we went to the spa and had a wonderful spa day. Last year we both had gotten each other treatments at the spa but never had made the time to do it. So the best gift to me was that Patty actually just made the time and we went. We had a much needed day together. We don't get to spend much time together anymore which really is a bummer. So I had the best time catching up with her. We both got body scrubs and it was in this cool room that was joined so we could sit there and enjoy our conversation and relax at the same time. Wonderful!
Then we both went off and had facials. The girl who was giving me my facial was dating someone from SJ....or his dad lives in SJ or something like that so you can imagine we had lots to talk about! I swear I aways meet or find someone that knows someone or has grown up there or family or something and SJ is the smallest place I know!
I forgot to take my bathing suit (Idiot) so I had to fly with a towel in the sauna. I love sitting in the hot steam...so refreshing. So I owe a huge thank you to patty for truly making me feel special and cared about. it was the best thing to just be with her. I also have to say that rob got me a 2 hour massage which was heavenly. I should be relaxed for a month now right! So we only took one picture that I am posting so I won't forget how cool we look in our robes! If you ever want to drive up to camelback and go to the Sanctuary I say DO IT! It is a great and cool place! We must do it again!
